Cap’s Cutest Cap

So in preparation for not only the 4th of July but a local fireman’s convention I decided that I would show love to the First Avenger. It took like almost no yarn and only about a half an hour to finish. It can be left as just the shield or like what I did add some tulle and ribbons for a little extra fun.

Materials Needed

v  3.25(D) crochet hook

v  Small amounts of red, white, and blue yarns

v  Hair clips

v  Optional

  • Red, white, and blue ribbon and tulle

The Shield

Using Blue (I used a darker blue than I wanted but it was all I had so…)

Start with magic circle here’s a great tutorial for this:

Star

With white

Ch4 sc in second from hook. Sl st into bottom. (This should give you three sc stitches in each arm of the star.) Repeat this four more times to make the star leaving a long tail to sew the star onto the shield.

Assemble!

Sew the star onto the shield then sew the hair clips to the back so it can be attached to your hair. I then sewed the ribbon and tulle on. I can’t wait to wear it to work on the 4th :J hope you all like it.
